I'm here...somewhere...

Thought I better pop in even though my blogging mood is not great.

Christmas was wonderful. So. Much. Fun. Exactly what I imagined. The baby girl loaded up on so much great stuff. I think we now own every talking, singing, noise making toy there is - for her age anyway. I trip on them alot. I'm now on a hunt for a toy box and book shelf!

The funk that's had me distant started on Wednesday, the 28th. I talked to the hubby that morning as I always do. He mentioned news of a fatal car accident had happend near our house involving a car and a semi. Just after hanging up a news announcement said the driver of the car had been killed instantly. I just had that feeling in the pit of my stomach that this was going to be someone I knew, or directly affect someone I knew. Sadly, both of that was true. Less than an hour after hearing the news reports I got a call from a childhood fried. It was one of our childhood friends, she was gone. It was her 23rd birthday, she was killed on her birthday - she was driving home from work.

I've had a lump in my throat for days. I felt numb yesterday, standing in Target, looking for sympathy cards for her parents, brother and sister-in-law. That is hard, very hard. Tomorrow I will be attending her funeral. That will prove to be the hardest. She was a beautiful person. I will always remember her.

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with family, friends and those you love.

It's going to be a wild one here that's for sure!

Also, I'm happy to note that... I just made 2 big batches of snickerdoodles that turned out beautifully. That made my morning!

This is the part where I sing to myself..

"Happy Birthday to me,
Happy Birthday to me,
Happy Birthday to mmmeeee;
Happy Birthday to me."

The big 2-4.

It's been such a busy day. Early breakfast with my Mom, sisters and the babygirl, Shopping, of course (for my presents..), a visit to Santa (a 2 hour wait...), and a dinner with the Hubby, Babygirl (of course), Dad, Step-mom and Sisters at my very favorite restaurant. I was even sure to get some dessert!

By far, one of the very best birthday's ever.

Peanut Butter Bars ~ (the recipe)

Because some asked, here are the peanut butter bars! Maybe I should post the brown sugar cookie recipe and see if its any of you can get edible cookies from it (or if I'm just a screw up)! Any takers?

_______________________________________________________

Peanut Butter Bars

8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup self rising flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13x9x2 inch pan. Melt butter and peanut butter in a bowl over hot water. Add remaining ingredients. Stir until blended. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.

I can't bake cookies, but my peanut butter bars are rockin!

I don't know what it is. My cookies never turn out and I'm starting to acquire a complex. (TKW can relate). I try over and over again, in hopes that ONE day I'll make perfect cookies. I try different recipe's, everything. My cookies are just crap.

Today I attempted the fine Paula Deen's brown sugar cookies. Disaster again. I don't know why I expected them to be perfect. These were the worst ever in my cooking history. She must have forgotten something...yeah right.

However, I'm pleased to say that Ms. Deen's peanut butter bars are just to die for. Yummy.

So until I can learn how to bake cookies I'll be eating my peanut butter bars and praying the babygirl never signs up for her mommy to bring cookies to her classroom parties.

Steamy windows - you know what that means...

I mean really, I know that some people, sometimes just can't contain themselves any longer and have to go 'do their thing' in their vehicle, but really, did they have to park next to me? Oh. My. Gawd. Lucky me.

I can imagine they were a little suprised to see my lights come on when I hit the clicker to unlock the doors.

For goodness sake, its really cold outside. I can think of 10 other places to be getting some action on a cold night than in the truck. Can't you?

I was going to play WBW a day late and a dollar short:

but...then...

I realize there is so much I need to do. The babygirl just went down for a nap, and my friend just picked up her 1 year old I kept this morning. I was going for the old photo books then I took a moment to look around...

I opened the door to the laundry room and closed it back.
I stepped on what must have been 50 cheerios on my way to the computer.
I have about 50 Christmas cards to seal and stamp.
There are bags and bags from my trip to Target yesterday that need to be sorted and wrapped.

Get the picture? I can't believe Christmas is less that 10 days away.

I'm off to try to get myself together and clean my floors. But first, I'm going to find some lunch!

Ben and Jerry's - What flavor are you?

I got this from Mrs. Fun!

You Are Half Baked Ice Cream

In reality, you're just a quarter baked

Half Baked - somehow I'm not really surprised...

To US Airways (United Airway)... Or whatever airway that kept calling my house last night:

I was too pissed to make note.

Every 30 minutes starting at 8:00 p.m. your automated line called my house trying to give me information. For central Florida press 2, for the north west press 4, for highway conditions press 5... Why? It's beyond me. I have never even been on a plane before for goodness sake.

For your information, I have a 10 month old baby girl that has not been the best sleeper the past week. She was asleep, but you continued to call my house until 10:00 p.m. You even woke her up once. I guess your lucky that I could never get to a human on the other end of the phone because trust me, you would have gotten more than an ear full.

At 10:00 p.m. my husband did finally reach a human after pushing who knows how many buttons. And, he did share some thoughts with you. Not it a nice way either, but rest assured was a lot nicer than I would have been.

I'm just left to wonder just how many other mother's you had cursing last night?

No. Water.

This has to be some kind of cruel joke. (Not really, something had to have hit the water main or something...) But, this isn't funny.

I think I'm going to scream.....

Of all mornings, I really wanted my coffee on *this* morning.

Teething again... (Maybe)

It appears the babygirl is teething again. Everything points that way, but she's good at throwing teething teases. The little bit still only has her bottom two teeth. She really seems to be working the gums, so that may change. We'll see.

But, for now, you know how it goes - one clingy baby and one tired mommy.

The Angel is missing, so up goes the star

Let the holiday's begin. The tree is up, decorated, and even has wrapped presents underneath all in record time. Granted there is still shopping to be done because I'm not done, but rather just proud that I'm over half way done on the first weekend of December. The hubby and I are notorious for doing all our shopping the weekend before Christmas. STUPID. I realize it now. So, this year will change that!
We're off to the small town Christmas parade tomorrow... Christmas is coming.
I. Can't. Believe. It's. December.
