What to do?

Okay... there is this photography portrait that I want so badly to do with Delaney. It is close up shots of body parts such as her ear, feet, eye, hands, face etc. I first saw one when I was pregnant with her. I fell in love with it! You can see an example here. I just have to have one.

However, the catch is - its $395 plus a $100 sitting fee. It comes matted and framed beautifully, but that is just a lot of money. My future Aunt just got my 7 month old cousins done and it is beyond beautiful.

B thinks I could do it myself. But, I'm doubtful I have that ability to do one of that quality. Misti probably could but I'm not sure about me. Sears has one similar that they call a portrait study. It is not as close up shots as I would like, but there is a lot of difference in price! I wonder if the photographer at Sears would work with us to get closer shots? I guess I should call and see.

I just don't know what to do... all I know is I want it so, so, so badly!

If you've got a good camera - youc ould do it yourself! Really! Youc ould have the print matted, etc...

Don't doubt yourself. Practice Practice Practice!

My camera is awesome for shots like that... tho paying the sitting fees would be cheaper than buying the camera I have! LOL

Good luck with your decision.

Of course you could do it! Just practice like puremood said. I love those types of photograph collages. I would love to have one of Tristyn.

I would call Sears and talk to them more in depth about that. Heck, I think I might call them myself and see what kind of pricing they have for that! LOL!

I have no doubt that you could do it too! Like everyone else said, just do a bunch of practice. That is such a wonderful idea and it'd be so precious, that it'd be even more so if you got to do it yourself!!! I say go for it!

That gives me an idea...hmmmm....:)

Of course you can do it! Just get some black and white film and take some pictures and maybe the place where you take your film may have some suggestions for you. It's worth the shot!

You could try to do it yourself and if it doesn't work, then go the professional route. My camera has a macro feature that is helpful.
If not, find a professional photographer who is cheaper. I got this done for my son and it was about $60 for the portraits and I paid $30 to get it framed. It's all B&W. Let me know if you need some help with the macro camera feature.

Do it!!! That's EXTREMELY expensive for what it is. If you have a digital camera you can just keep snapping until you get what you want. If you have a good photo editing software you can really do anything you want. Oh and places like Kinkos and stuff will print out photo layouts for pretty cheap and then you can get it framed.
